By the light of the Moon…

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more. Neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

                                                                                    -Revelations 21:4

The moon wore a halo last week, around a half-cocked Cheshire grin.

Did you see it?…mocking or smug, I don’t know which.

How many nights have we looked upon just such a moon, and wondered…

not about the moon…

but how it would change everything.

The moon that will pull the orbit of the earth…

just a little bit…toward tilt;

You won’t even feel it, but by tomorrow, you’ll have been rearranged…

Every day will improve,

and the next be better than the one before,

The past will recede like a dream we can hardly remember.

The hours will be longer…

a sliver of a second…

just long enough to allow the shades of peace to slip in, unmolested.

The world won’t end, but begin again;

I take this stone and move it…way over there,

so that nothing will ever be the same,

                              while the wind,

whispers what was away.

You’ll see.
